Meet Christy
Martin played various sports as a child, including baseball and basketball. She even attended Concord College on a basketball scholarship. Martin is said to be “the most successful and prominent female boxer in the United States” and the person who “legitimized” women’s participation in the sport of boxing. She won the WBCWomen's Super Welterweight title and was recognized by the World Boxing Council as its nominal women's lightweight champion of the world.
